Current position

The website does not currently use analytics, advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies. A short essential PHP session cookie may be created when the contact form is submitted so the server can apply a brief anti-spam rate limit.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored by a website on a computer, phone or other device. They can allow a website to recognise a browser during a visit or across later visits.

Similar technologies may include browser storage, pixels, tags or scripts that store information on a device or access information already stored there. The same general transparency and consent rules may apply to those technologies.

2. How this website currently uses cookies

The public pages are designed to work without analytics, advertising or personalisation cookies. Simply browsing the main website does not require optional cookies.

When the contact form is submitted, the server starts a short PHP session. That session is used to remember the time of the most recent form submission from the same browser and to prevent repeated form submissions within a short period.

This is a security and anti-spam function connected to a service the visitor has requested. It is not used to analyse browsing behaviour, create a marketing profile or track the visitor across other websites.

3. Cookie details

Cookie Purpose Type Typical duration
PHPSESSID Maintains a short server-side session used to limit repeated contact-form submissions and reduce spam or misuse. Strictly necessary Normally until the browser session ends, subject to the hosting server’s PHP session configuration.

The precise session-cookie name or expiry may change if the website hosting or PHP configuration changes. This policy should be reviewed after any such technical change.

4. Why the website does not currently show a cookie-consent banner

Consent is generally required before non-essential cookies or similar technologies are stored or accessed. An exception applies where a cookie is strictly necessary to provide an online service requested by the user.

Because the website currently uses no optional analytics or marketing cookies, there is no optional-cookie choice for visitors to make. The essential form-security session is described in this policy instead.

A consent banner must be added before any non-essential technologies are activated where consent is legally required.

5. Analytics, advertising and other future tools

The website does not currently use:

  • Google Analytics or another visitor analytics platform
  • Advertising pixels or conversion-tracking cookies
  • Remarketing or cross-site behavioural tracking
  • Embedded social-media tracking tools
  • Personalisation cookies

If any non-essential technology is introduced, Village Bathrooms should:

  • Update this policy with the cookie name, provider, purpose and duration
  • Prevent the technology from loading before valid consent where required
  • Provide equally clear accept and reject choices
  • Allow visitors to change or withdraw their choice easily
  • Keep non-essential cookies active only for an appropriate duration

6. Third-party websites and links

The website contains links that may open third-party services, such as Google Maps, telephone applications or email applications. Clicking a link may take you to a different website or application that operates under its own cookie and privacy policies.

Village Bathrooms does not control cookies placed by a third-party website after you choose to leave this website.

7. Managing cookies through your browser

Most browsers allow you to view, delete or block cookies through their privacy or security settings. The exact controls depend on the browser and device.

Blocking all cookies may prevent the contact-form session control from working as intended. You can still contact Village Bathrooms by phone or email if the form does not work in your browser.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when website functionality, hosting, form processing or third-party services change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
