Important distinction
These website terms provide a general framework. A bathroom quotation, order confirmation, installation schedule or other written project document may contain additional terms specific to that project. Where documents differ, the later and more specific written project terms normally apply, but nothing in any document removes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
1. About these terms and the business
This website is operated by Village Bathrooms and Boilers, also trading as Village Bathrooms, based at:
5 Charles CtTimperley
Altrincham
WA15 7BN
References to “Village Bathrooms”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean Village Bathrooms and Boilers. References to “you” or “the customer” mean the person using the website, making an enquiry or entering into a project agreement with us.
These terms are intended for customers acting mainly for personal, domestic or household purposes. Separate written terms may apply to trade, landlord, commercial or business customers.
2. Using this website
You may use the website for lawful purposes, including learning about our services, viewing project examples and contacting the showroom.
You must not knowingly:
- Damage, disrupt or interfere with the website or hosting systems
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system or information
- Submit malicious code, automated spam or misleading enquiries
- Use website content in a way that infringes another person’s rights
- Misrepresent an association with Village Bathrooms
3. Website information
We aim to keep website information clear and reasonably up to date. However, product ranges, specifications, finishes, supplier availability, services and project examples may change.
Website content is general information and inspiration. It is not a survey, technical specification, professional assessment, quotation or binding offer.
A contract is not created merely because you submit an enquiry, receive an automatic acknowledgement, view a product online or discuss an initial idea with us.
4. Enquiries and showroom consultations
An enquiry or consultation allows us to understand the proposed room, services required, preferred products and practical priorities. We may ask for measurements, photographs, property information or a site visit before preparing or finalising a quotation.
Initial ideas or indicative discussions may change after accurate measurements, technical checks, supplier confirmation or further information about the property.
5. Quotations, estimates and project contracts
A quotation or estimate should identify the products or services included, the expected price or pricing basis and any important assumptions or exclusions.
Unless the written quotation says otherwise:
- An estimate is an indication rather than a fixed total
- A quotation is based on the information available when issued
- Supplier availability and final technical suitability remain subject to confirmation
- Work not expressly included is excluded
- A quotation remains open only for the period stated in it
The project contract is formed when the parties accept the relevant written quotation or order and any required initial payment is made, or when another clearly agreed acceptance process is completed.
6. Measurements, surveys and hidden conditions
Product and installation decisions may depend on accurate room measurements, water pressure, drainage, electrical supply, wall and floor construction, ventilation and other site conditions.
A visual inspection cannot always identify concealed pipework, defective substrates, structural issues, asbestos, water damage, outdated wiring or other hidden conditions. If an unforeseen condition is discovered, we will explain the issue and any reasonably necessary change to price, specification or timing before additional chargeable work proceeds, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to prevent danger or material damage.
7. Products, samples, colours and natural variation
Product images, showroom displays and samples are useful guides, but appearance may vary because of lighting, screen settings, production batches, natural materials and manufacturing tolerances.
Tiles, stone, timber-effect surfaces and other decorative products may contain intentional pattern, shade or texture variation. Where products need to match, the customer should raise that requirement before an order is placed.
Manufacturers may alter specifications or discontinue products. If an agreed item becomes unavailable, we will discuss an appropriate alternative, revised timing, price adjustment or other reasonable solution.
8. Prices, deposits and payment
Prices and payment stages will be set out in the relevant quotation, invoice, order confirmation or project agreement. Unless expressly stated otherwise, prices are in pounds sterling.
Deposits and advance payments may be required to reserve installation time, order products or cover committed project costs. Any amount retained following cancellation must be fair and reflect losses or costs that cannot reasonably be avoided.
Payments must be made by the stated due dates. If payment is genuinely disputed, the customer should contact us promptly and explain the issue so that it can be reviewed.
We will not add optional charges without the customer’s agreement. Additional work or products should be confirmed through a written variation wherever reasonably practicable.
9. Changes to products, design or scope
A requested change after products have been ordered or work has been scheduled may affect price, delivery, labour and completion time.
We will explain material consequences before accepting a change. Special-order, made-to-measure, personalised or installed products may be difficult or impossible to return unless they are faulty or another legal right applies.
10. Installation work
Where installation is included, the agreed scope should be completed with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with the written project specification.
Installation may involve noise, dust, temporary interruption of bathroom facilities and reasonable access by installers or tradespeople. We will aim to manage the work carefully, but some disruption is unavoidable during a renovation.
Decoration, structural work, specialist surveys, upgrading hidden services or other work is included only where the written quotation expressly says so.
11. Customer responsibilities and property access
The customer is expected to:
- Provide accurate information about the property and project
- Confirm that they have authority to approve the work
- Provide safe and reasonable access at agreed times
- Remove personal belongings from the working area where requested
- Provide access to electricity, water and other agreed facilities
- Tell us about known hazards, access restrictions or property rules
- Keep children, pets and visitors away from active working areas
- Review drawings, specifications and selections before approval
- Make payments in accordance with the agreed schedule
If access is unavailable or the working area is unsafe or not reasonably ready, work may need to be rearranged and reasonable resulting costs may be chargeable where permitted by the project agreement and applicable law.
12. Product availability, scheduling and delays
Dates may depend on supplier stock, delivery services, installer availability, property access and the condition of the existing room. Unless expressly guaranteed in writing, dates are reasonable estimates.
We will communicate material delays and take reasonable steps to reduce disruption. Neither party is responsible for delay caused by events genuinely outside their reasonable control, but this does not remove any legal right to end a contract where delay becomes sufficiently serious.
13. Cancellation and cooling-off rights
Cancellation rights depend on how and where the contract was made, the products or services involved, whether work has started and whether items have been specially ordered or personalised.
Where the law gives a cancellation period for a distance or off-premises contract, we will provide the required information. If the customer asks for services to begin during a statutory cancellation period, payment may be due for work properly completed before cancellation where the legal requirements have been met.
If a customer cancels outside any statutory right, we may recover reasonable direct losses and committed costs that result from the cancellation, after taking reasonable steps to reduce those losses. We will not rely on an automatically excessive or disproportionate cancellation charge.
If we cancel without customer fault, we will address payments and unfulfilled obligations fairly in light of the work completed, products supplied and applicable consumer rights.
14. Faults, guarantees and warranties
Products and services remain subject to the customer’s statutory rights. Goods must meet applicable legal standards, and services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill.
Manufacturer guarantees may apply to particular products and may contain registration, maintenance or use requirements. A manufacturer guarantee is additional to statutory rights and does not replace them.
Please report a suspected fault or installation concern promptly, provide relevant photographs or details where possible and allow a reasonable opportunity for the issue to be inspected and addressed.
Normal wear, accidental damage, misuse, unsuitable cleaning products, failure to maintain ventilation, unauthorised alterations or work by another contractor may not be covered by a product guarantee or workmanship commitment.
15. Responsibility and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful. In particular, these terms do not remove statutory consumer rights or exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, was caused by inaccurate information supplied by the customer, or resulted from matters outside the agreed scope.
For consumer customers, we do not accept responsibility for business losses such as loss of profit, revenue, opportunity or commercial use of a property.
16. Project images and intellectual property
Website text, branding, layout, graphics and original project photography are protected by intellectual-property law. They must not be copied, republished, modified or commercially reused without permission, except where the law allows.
We will not knowingly publish identifiable customer or property details with project photographs without an appropriate basis. Customers should tell us if they have a concern about the use of a project image.
17. Third-party websites, manufacturers and contractors
The website may link to services operated by other organisations, such as map, email or telephone applications. Their own terms and privacy information apply when you use them.
Product manufacturers and independent specialist contractors may have their own responsibilities and terms. Where we arrange or coordinate a third party as part of our contract, this does not remove our responsibilities for the services we have agreed to provide.
18. Privacy and cookies
Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Information about website cookies and essential session technology appears in our Cookie Policy.
19. Questions, concerns and complaints
Please raise a question or concern as soon as reasonably possible so that we can investigate it. Include the customer name, project address, relevant order or quotation details and a clear explanation of the issue.

Nothing in these terms prevents a customer from seeking independent advice or using any dispute-resolution or court process available by law.
20. Applicable law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. A consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom may also benefit from mandatory protections and court rights available where they live.
If any provision is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply so far as legally possible.
We may update these terms when the website, services or legal requirements change. The version applying to a project is normally the version provided or accepted when the relevant contract was made, together with any later variation agreed by both parties.
